Each time we put together an issue of see-zeen it is never a certainty what will go in or stay out of the editorial letter until the very last minute. The world is an evolving story and what might seem to be of prime importance one moment is totally obscured the next by ever escalating craziness. October 7 is one of those moments, a critical juncture.

The world is bursting with trauma, chaos, brokenness and disconnection now. There are constant distractions around us. Are these myriad political conflicts a reflection of ourselves, the society we create every day, at work, with our friends and families, on social media? Can’t we try to listen to each other, try to respect and accept the opinions of others and, as we speak a lot about diversity, also embrace the diversity of different views to find common ground?

Our regular feature A Visual Dialogue is about connecting total strangers in different corners of the world to find, not only creative inspiration and expansion, but also human connection. An exchange of ideas, a pivotal point for a new dialogue that expands beyond borders. In this issue the photographers come from Australia and China.
